Burberry’s Next Print? A Watercolor by King Charles III

King Charles III, as we know, has a keen sense of style. In addition to being named one of the best-dressed men by various magazines, the monarch has also forged collaborations with some of the most renowned fashion houses, creating collections infused with his aesthetic vision and a commitment to sustainability.

This time, however, the king wanted to go a step further, personally designing the central motif of the fifth collection born from the well-established collaboration between Burberry and Highgrove Gardens—the gardens surrounding the private residence of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, managed by The King’s Foundation, the charitable foundation established by King Charles and dedicated to nature conservation and sustainability.

Specifically, the king created a watercolor depicting Birkhall, the British royal family’s private country residence in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on the Balmoral estate, which was reproduced on some of the pieces in the capsule collection. The result is a beautiful chromatic ode to the unmistakable English countryside and its dreamlike atmosphere.
