The New York Knicks are having a moment. The beloved basketball team became bona fide champs after defeating the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, their first championship win in 53 years. Needless to say, the Knicks’ lineup is nothing short of golden, from captain Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns to OG Anunoby and Josh Hart.
Brunson, Towns, and Hart’s partners—Dr. Ali Marks Brunson, Jordyn Woods, and Shannon Hart, respectively—were present for the Finals this past June. Like the Brunsons, Shannon and New York Knicks shooting guard Josh Hart are high school sweethearts, having met in 10th grade.

About Josh Hart’s Wife, Shannon, and Their Two Kids
Born Shannon Phillips and hailing from Greenbelt, Maryland, Shannon met Josh when they were 15. She admitted that she was initially unimpressed with Josh while in high school: “Everyone was like, ‘Who is this kid?’ He would show up to class 30 minutes late, walk into the classroom, take off his backpack, lean back and close his eyes and go to sleep in front of the teacher—like the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen.”
A year after they met, Josh texted Shannon, asking her if she liked him. They went on their first date on Nov. 11, 2011.
Shannon attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she majored in health administration and public policy. She also played soccer there. She and Josh dated throughout college, but they “were on and off.”
Upon graduating, Shannon attended the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She graduated in December 2019 with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. In September 2020, Shannon began working as a nurse.
Helping other people is part of what drew Shannon to nursing. “I love helping people; I love talking to people. I just like that one-to-one interaction as a nurse. You’re in the room with the person, you’re asking them what they need, you’re helping them with whatever,” she said.
Josh proposed to Shannon in December of that year, and they tied the knot in Miami on Aug. 28, 2021. The newlyweds traveled to London, Italy, and Greece for their honeymoon. Almost two years later, Shannon gave birth to twin boys, Hendrix Aaron and Haze Dana, on May 12, 2023. Per PEOPLE, Shannon and Josh’s kids made their modeling debut in September 2025 at the Rookie Kids “Runway on Broadway” fashion show.
Shannon and Josh ensure that connection is one of the pillars of their marriage. Shannon also emphasizes the importance of providing unconditional support. “Every day we just continue to support each other and make sure each other feels important in our lives,” she told PEOPLE.
