Travis Kelce Leaves Chiefs Rookie Mansoor Delane in Awe With One Unforgettable Moment

The Kansas City Chiefs and Travis Kelce are off to one of the NFL’s best starts in 2026, entering Week 7 with a perfect 5-0 record.

The Chiefs were impressive yet again on Sunday in their win over the division rival Los Angeles Chargers, defeating them 22-6 at home in Kansas City.

The Chiefs have been led by players like running back Kenneth Walker and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but they’ve also gotten meaningful contributions from veterans like Kelce.

The three-time Super Bowl champion caught four passes for 53 yards in the win on Sunday, but his presence left a clear impact on one of the Chiefs’ most heralded rookies.

Chiefs Rookie In Awe of Travis Kelce’s ‘Aura’

After Kelce caught a 24-yard pass from Mahomes during the game, cameras caught the reaction of Kansas City rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane, who was mic’d up for the matchup.

“Kelce has so much aura,” Delane said about his teammate. “He got so much aura, bro. Kelce has so much aura, like if I had a son, I want him to be just like [Kelce].”

Kelce and his brother Jason reacted to the clip on their New Heights podcast, and the future Hall of Fame tight end was flattered by the show of support from his young teammate.

“Yeah, that’s my guy! Shout out to 5. Mansoor is funny as [expletive] for that,” Kelce said with a huge smile. “I love this squad, we got a good team.”

Kansas City’s Undefeated Start in 2026

The Chiefs selected Delane with the No. 6 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, following a stellar college career at Virginia Tech and LSU.

After making third-team All-ACC in his final season with the Hokies in 2024, Delane followed it up with an All-American campaign in his lone season with the Tigers.

Delane made an immediate impact with Kansas City, picking off Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix in his debut with the Chiefs in Week 1.

To date, the Maryland native has collected 22 combined tackles in the first four games of his NFL career.

Kelce has caught 20 passes for 299 yards through the first five games of the 2026 season, along with two touchdown receptions. He turned in a vintage performance in Week 2, helping the Chiefs win in overtime with 9 catches for 101 yards and a touchdown.

The Chiefs will have their perfect record tested this week, as they’ll face the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in primetime.

Fans can catch the game on Sunday Night Football, this week at 8pm on NBC and Peacock.
