Study of 27,931 Adults Links 4 Bedroom Habits to More Orgasms & Higher Sexual Satisfaction for Women

In June 2026, a large study on sexual satisfaction was published that was based on feedback from 27,931 adults. It detailed four things that male and female partners can do in the bedroom to lead to the highest frequency of orgasms for women.

The Method Used by the Researchers

In June 2026, Archives of Sexual Behavior published a study that was indexed by ResearchGate. The study was titled “Sexual Satisfaction and Orgasm Experiences During Partnered and Solo Sex Among 27,931 Users of the Flo App.” Authored by seven people, the study gathered information about the “interplay between orgasms and sexual satisfaction in partnered and solo contexts” from Flo app users. It noted that 99% of the participants were female.

The Four Bedroom Habits Researchers Identified

Based on the study’s results, researchers found that three activities during partnered sex were linked to participants who reported higher orgasm frequency. “During partnered activities, using sex toys, vaginal penetration with clitoral stimulation, and masturbation with partner present had the highest orgasm frequencies.”

Additionally, the study noted another factor that leads to better partnered sex for women. “Greater variety in partnered sexual activities was associated with higher satisfaction and higher orgasm frequency.”

The authors of the study went on to note that the participants reported they experienced more orgasms during solo activities. Despite that, the research showed that women feel highly sexually satisfied after experiencing orgasms with a partner. “Partnered orgasm frequency was a significant, positive predictor of satisfaction.”

What This Means for Men: Mutual Pleasure Drives Better Sex

It is perfectly sensible for men to want their sexual partners to be satisfied with their experience for purely selfless reasons. However, a May 2023 study shows that men should also want their female sexual partners to be satisfied for selfish reasons.

Indexed by the National Library of Medicine, the study is titled “Caring, Chemistry, and Orgasms: Components of Great Sexual Experiences.” It notes that men report enjoying their sexual experiences more when their partner orgasms. “Men’s sexual satisfaction relies upon their partner’s orgasm and pleasure due to the demands of masculinity.”
