Freelander’s valet parking system is the same SIVP that Luxeed and Omoda & Jaecoo offer, underlining how much it draws on Chery
The international Freelander 8 will offer Chery’s Super Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP) in selected markets, alongside a new voice assistant powered by a large language model. The JLR-Chery brand set out the technology behind its first model at the Chery International User Summit in Wuhu.
SIVP lets drivers park and summon the car through a smartphone app in supported car parks. L2+ driver assistance with more than 30 functions is standard, including adaptive cruise control, lane centring, automatic emergency braking, a surround-view camera with a “transparent chassis” view, and automatic and remote parking.
Every trim uses Qualcomm’s SA8295P chip, built on a 5nm process with 23 TOPS of AI computing power and able to drive up to eight displays. A 46.3-inch, 8K Mini LED display spans about 1.2m of the dashboard, joined by a 15.6-inch centre screen and an optional 17.3-inch ceiling display for rear passengers. Physical buttons remain for frequently used functions.

“Tonight, I’m pleased to announce our AI Voice Assistant, powered by a large language model and tailored for Freelander. It brings more natural conversations and a deeper understanding of your car,” said Lucia Mao, Chief Executive of Freelander International.
SIVP is the same system Luxeed demonstrated to international media this week, and Omoda & Jaecoo offers it too. Freelander’s design may be British, but its software and electronics come from Chery’s shared technology stack.
