Major New Update for ‘Star Wars’ Racing Game Makes Galactic Racing Feel Even Better

Anyone that grew up with the Star Wars prequel films like Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace will remember podracing. It was a beloved part of the film that was spun off into multiple video games that depicted the high-octane galactic races. Now in 2026, Star Wars fans have Star Wars: Galactic Racer to live out their biggest podracing fantasy. And the game is only getting better.

In a new blog post shared October 22, 2026 on their official website, game studio Fuse Games gave details about a major update released for Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The update includes helpful tweaks and significant changes to quality-of-life aspects of the game, which is applicable to both consoles and PC platforms.

Gamers who like to race others online will be able to pair up with more players, as the party size for online races is increased from 3 to 6 players. This allows larger groups to hop online and participate in Tours and single races, as well as spectate races in progress. The camera mid-race has also been tweaked, with smoother transitions and better views of the action.

Other changes from the new update affect stability. Connection issues and game crashes on PC are addressed, along with party stability when grouping with other players. Before the update, PC players voiced their concerns about game crashes happening because of AMD Frame Interpolation, which has now been fixed.

A small change to rewards will also allow players to gain more credits from races. Joining a new online Tour that is already in-progress used to reward around 4,000 credits. These can be used to unlock customization options for vehicles and other online profile displays. That number is now increased to 6,000 credits, which should allow players to gain more options quicker when playing online.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer was released on October 6, 2026 for consoles and PC. It not only allows players to pilot podracers, just like in The Phantom Menace, but also a collection of other vehicle types to race with. It received many positive reviews and praise from Star Wars fans for the fast action and fun gameplay that felt authentic to what was seen in the movies.
