Does Ric Flair Have a Wife & Kids? His Complicated History With Wendy Barlow

Does Ric Flair have a wife and kids? The wrestling icon’s family life has been complicated. And some of that complicated history revolves around his partner, Wendy Barlow.

On October 23, 2026, Flair wrote on Instagram that he was hospitalized for a blood clot issue in his leg. That has renewed interest in Flair’s family life.

He doesn’t currently have a wife, as far as is publicly known. In 2018, Flair and Barlow held a wedding ceremony, but they revealed in 2022 that she was never actually his wife.”It was just a ceremony,” Flair told People that year. “We were never married.” Around that time, Flair revealed on Instagram that he and Barlow had “decided to go our separate ways” after spending time apart. Barlow also confirmed that information to People. However, that wasn’t the end of their story.

According to Fox5Atlanta, Flair has been married four times, not counting the nuptials with Barlow.

Two of Flair’s marriages lasted many years and produced kids.

According to Wrestling, Inc.: “Flair had two long marriages to his first two wives, resulting in his four children, but he was never single for long, always divorcing and re-marrying within a year until he began dating Wendy Barlow, his former valet in WCW.”

He married his first wife, Leslie Goodman, in 1971. They had kids David and Megan and stayed married for 12 years.

His subsequent wives were Elizabeth Harrell, Tiffany VanDemark, and Jackie Beems. He had kids Charlotte and Reid with Harrell, according to Wrestling, Inc. Reid died of a tragic drug overdose. Some of his marriages were punctuated with problems. Beems was once accused of assaulting Flair.

Flair and Harrell were together for 23 years. Charlotte, also called Ashley, is also a WWE wrestler. David also had a professional wrestling career. Megan was involved in bodybuilding competitions, according to People.

In 2024, VanDemark wrote about her marriage to Flair on Instagram. “For a while, I was thriving as a top personal trainer in Charlotte and a national fitness competitor. But when I married Ric Flair, I felt like I lost my identity, becoming just ‘Ric Flair’s wife’ and later ‘Ric Flair’s ex-wife,'” she wrote. “It’s tough to lose yourself in someone else’s story. But through it all, I learned the importance of personal branding. Ric taught me that our brand is our story, and we must own it.”

Ric Flair Announced That He Was Renewing His Friendship With Wendy Barlow

Flair and Barlow reconciled. Then, in August 2026, he posted a photo with Barlow to X and wrote, “Wendy and I are not renewing a relationship. We are renewing a 34 year friendship. She has her own residence and I have mine. She is coming to Tampa primarily to take care of her parents, who are both in their 80s and not in good health. Wendy will continue to do what she does best, travel the world, and help people who are struggling in other countries.”

He added: “I’ll resume what I do and love most which is attending public events and signing autographs at meet & greets. Please don’t turn something positive into something negative. If that’s all you have to do, find something better to do. The one part I am sure of, which she reminds me whenever we speak, is that she will always be there for me if I get sick again, and I was sick for two years! Her whole family took care of me. Find someone else to hate on! Wendy and I are good.”

“I will love and cherish all of our memories together forever,” Flair wrote in 2022 of the Barlow split. “And I feel forever be thankful for all she has done to make my life better!”

In His Message on Instagram, Ric Flair Wrote That He Was ‘Dealing With a Blood Clot in My Leg’

“I want to sincerely apologize to my agent, Steve Solomon @solomonsportsssg, Washington state horror con @wahorrorcon, @bigeventny, and especially all my fans in Seattle for having to cancel my scheduled appearance,” Flair began his October 23 post.

“Unfortunately, I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg, and my doctors have limited my travel to 3–4 hours. Seattle falls outside that range, and as disappointed as I am, I have to put my health and recovery first,” he added.

“Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening. We have seen this recently with Jalen Hurts and the complications involving blood clots in his lungs. It is a reminder that this is not something to take lightly, and I must follow medical advice,” Flair added. “I’m scheduled to have a procedure to strip the affected vein, which my doctors expect will allow me to be cleared for more travel afterward. Please know this decision was not made lightly. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment, and I am incredibly grateful for your patience, understanding, and continued support.”

He concluded: “I look forward to getting healthy and seeing you all down the road. Thank you for the love and support.”
