While Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, and Josh O’Connor close in on the current vacancy for the next James Bond, bets are also on for Bond’s leading lady.
Earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter named Margaret Qualley, star of Netflix miniseries Maid (2021), Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things (2023), and horror movie The Substance (2024), as the odds-on favorite for the next Bond girl.
Outside of her impressive movie and TV resume, the rising star is no stranger to the world of celebrity, thanks to her upbringing and personal life.
Margaret Qualley Is the Daughter of Hollywood Legend Andie MacDowell

Margaret Qualley (born 1994) is the daughter of model Paul Qualley and actress Andie MacDowell, best known for her roles in St. Elmo’s Fire (1985), Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), Groundhog Day (1993), and Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994). Qualley’s sister, Rainey Qualley, is a musician and actress who appeared in Ocean’s 8 (2018) and the TV classic Mad Men.
Qualley and MacDowell worked together as an on-screen mother-daughter duo in the Netflix smash-hit series Maid. Qualley played Alexandra “Alex” Russell, a struggling single mother who takes on work as a maid for hire after fleeing from an abusive relationship. In the show, Alex gets back in touch with her estranged mother, Paula Langley (MacDowell), who has bipolar disorder.
For their acclaimed performances in Maid, Qualley and MacDowell were respectively nominated for Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries.
Margaret Qualley Has Been Married to Superstar Producer Jack Antonoff Since 2023

In 2023, Margaret Qualley married Jack Antonoff, a musician who served as drummer and guitarist for the band Fun., before becoming a full-time lead vocalist for his own band, Bleachers. For pop fans, Antonoff may be better known as a prolific producer, having worked on albums for Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Sabrina Carpenter, and Kendrick Lamar.
Antonoff, who previously dated Lena Dunham and Scarlett Johansson, co-wrote “Margaret,” dedicated to his wife, with Del Rey, which appeared on the latter musician’s 2023 album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Antonoff also sang on the track, credited to Bleachers.
