Jackson, Wyoming Guide: Where to Stay, Eat, and Shop All Year Round

Womenfolk is a vintage and consignment shop that specializes in high fashion with a Western edge. During my recent visit, I spied a Ralph Lauren hand-knit silk cardigan and Yves Saint Laurent fringe lambskin leather knickers. Beyond name brands, there’s an assortment of old turquoise jewelry, fine-crafted belts, statement fringe jackets, quality denim, and cowboy boots.

Dallas native Lela Rose spent many years living and working in New York before relocating to Wilson, where she opened her first Wyoming shop, followed by an outpost in downtown Jackson in 2026. The shop, located at 98 Center Street, stocks a curated mix of Lela Rose ready-to-wear and Western-inspired pieces, including vintage cowboy boots as well as hand-embellished shirts and accessories.

It takes 10 to 12 months for Christy Sing Robertson to make one of her hand-crafted cowboy hats. But customers (including Vogue editors) think it’s well worth the wait to choose from premium felt bodies, satin linings, and gold-stamped leather, creating more than just a western accessory but a piece of wearable art.

The immensely popular, high-end western store out of Aspen set up shop in Jackson a few years back, hawking its splurge-worthy hats—which you can get branded with your initials—cowboy boots, belt buckles, bolo ties, and more. More, in this case, means fine diamond jewelry and vintage Gucci bags.

Because cold is no excuse not to make a fashion statement, go to Habits, a high-end boutique in the town of Jackson, to score the latest from brands like Jamie Haller, Studio Nicholson, Guest in Residence, Raquel Allegra, and Wales Bonner—as well as funkier, cutting-edge pieces from Dutch artist Rop Man Mierlo’s Wild Animals line.

While wandering around Jackson, it’s not whether you’ll find a fabulous hat, but rather where you decide to purchase one. JW Bennett hand-crafts both custom and ready-to-wear hats, ranging from Guatemalan palm straw accented with indigo ribbons for summer to felt styles with vintage grosgrain.

Made is a small, well-curated gift shop, stocked with everything from National Park-themed playing cards to huckleberry honey and artisanal mugs. It’s the perfect place to pick up a souvenir for both yourself and anyone else in your life who wants a piece of the West.

If you’re looking to get more into the Teton lifestyle, ir at least dress the part, Piper Jackson Hole is a good spot to pick up a few on-theme essentials, including woven alpaca sweaters, low-rise baggy denim, The Great plush embroidered pullovers, and Rachel Comey oversized wool coats.

When to Visit

No matter when you visit, a trip to Jackson is always focused on the outdoors. In the winter, the culture revolves around snow sports like skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. In the summer, most folks gravitate to activities like hiking, fishing, and rafting.

In winter, temperatures typically hover in the 20s during the day and teens at night. Single digits—and even colder conditions, especially at elevation on Jackson Hole Mountain—are not uncommon. In July and August, daytime temperatures generally reach the upper 70s and low 80s, with plenty of blue-sky days and dramatic swings from warm, sunny afternoons to crisp evenings.
