Back in July, the game rating for the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was spotted on Nintendo’s official store page.

In case you missed it, it’s E10+. The title contains “animated blood” and “fantasy violence”. Now, in a small update, the rating summary has officially gone live on the Entertainment Software Rating Board.

Apart from reconfirming the rating, it provides a rough outline of the game’s story and also details the gameplay, enemies, and battles Link will face throughout his adventure. Here’s the full rundown:

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Switch 2

“The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB with Animated Blood and Fantasy Violence. This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of a hero on a quest to defeat evil and save a fantasy realm called Hyrule. From a third-person perspective, players explore Hyrule, interact with characters, solve puzzles, and battle fantastical enemies (e.g., bat-like, spider-like, chicken-like enemies; guards) Players use swords, shields, arrows, and magic spells to attack enemies. Battles are accompanied by impact sounds, colorful light effects, and cries of pain. Certain enemies may emit a green or purple blood effect when defeated. Some areas contain larger boss enemies that require more protracted combat to defeat.”

As we previously noted, the 2011 3DS release Ocarina of Time 3D received the same rating but also referenced “suggestive themes”. The ESRB rating summary at the time included the following description:

“Link encounters a few female characters that are depicted from low camera angles and dressed in outfits that display moderate amounts of cleavage.”

So, there you have it, the official rating summary for Ocarina of TIme’s Switch 2 remake. Apart from this, Nintendo has also released some new commercials for the title this week, and the digital file size has seemingly been reconfirmed. You can find out more in our previous stories:
