Virtus.pro secure WINLINE MPKBK CIS LAN title over Nemesis

Virtus.pro have taken home the WINLINE MPKBK CIS LAN S9 title with a 3-2 win over Nemesis in the grand final, with the latter missing out on a win that would massively boost their chances of making the Singapore Major.

Ivan “SELLTER” Miroshnikov‘s squad came into the event as the highest-ranked VRS squad in attendance and cashed in on their favorite status with a flawless group-stage campaign, before wins against WW and Black Phoenix secured them a grand final spot.

There they met Virtus.pro, who were playing the tournament with Robert “Patsi” Isyanov as a stand-in, and it was the Russian rifler who topped the series with a 1.14 rating to help his team secure the trophy.

The event was especially important in terms of Singapore Major implications for Nemesis, as the Russian squad would have kept realistic chances of qualifying alive with a win at the event.

A loss means their chances drop to an incredibly slim 8.9%, however, with their grand final opponents Virtus.pro sitting at an even smaller 1.8%.

The other squad in attendance with a chance at making the Major, K27, also failed to capitalize on the opportunity with a semi-final exit.

Just after the event’s last match. Placements may change as other events conclude.
