WWE SmackDown Testimonial for Oct. 9: The Good, the Bad, and the Hideous

One more episode of SmackDown remains in guides, implying it’s time to recall at the program to determine the low and high of an episode that featured Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley winning the WWE Female’s Tag Team titles.

Gunther

Truthfully, this was a completely skippable program. Some things took place, nothing especially good or poor, and afterwards it finished. My favored point on the program, however, was Gunther demanding a suit with Danhausen, which made rational sense, and then pounding him, which additionally made sense. Finn Balor ran in, got the top hand briefly, only for Gunther to lay him out, too. The backstage section with Danhausen’s evil detector freaking out on Balor makes me assume we’ll be obtaining a return of “the Satanic force” trick. That need to make it a bit a lot more purposeful when Gunther defeats him.

Various other Highlights

  • While the match itself was greatly featureless, I suched as that they blended the individuals in the women’s six-person tag suit instead of choose heels against faces. Wherefore it’s worth, of everyone involved, I thought Jacy Jayne was the standout.
  • We got good strength from Cody Rhodes, who attacked Miz and Set Wilson, and then cut an impassioned coupon on Randy Orton.
  • I remain to such as the direction we’re receiving from Damian Clergyman. I do require him to escape R-Truth as soon as possible, though. You can value what Reality has done in this service, yet he’s been presented as a joke character permanently. Priest requires to beat him and proceed.

Bron Breakker vs. Trick Williams

What was the point of this match? And why was it in the main event? Breakker and Williams crossed paths in Nick Aldis’ office, triggering a pointless individually suit neither man must want so near to Saturday’s ladder suit. It had no risks, no story, and the two didn’t hit the ring until there was less than 10 minutes left in the program. Then, to include a little insult to injury, there was a commercial break and a non-finish involving Je’Von Evans and Penta, neither of whom had any kind of factor to obtain involved, and Bronson Reed (but not Oba Femi) to shut a go-home program. Yawn.

Other Lowlights

  • Considering that was entailed, the opening segment with CM Punk, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn underwhelmed. There were a number of amusing minutes, but for the most part it felt uneventful and overly long.
  • MFTs dealing with Battle Raiders was plain. I do like seeing Haku for sentimental reasons, but it took permanently for him to strike Erik with the walking stick. Bakusai got entailed to no response as Kyoki managed to make another appearance where it appears like none of his moves hurt any individual. I guess we’re headed toward a three-way hazard suit.
  • Whenever I see Lil Yachty I consider the scene in Workplace where the Bobs ask, “What would you state you do right here?” Williams doesn’t require an additional mouthpiece.

SmackDown (beyond the main event)

For as piled as the main event scene on SmackDown is, there isn’t much taking place for any individual beyond it. Aside from having half of the participants in both ladder matches, SmackDown does not have a presence on the program– all 3 of the other suits include ability from Raw. Where is Carmelo Hayes? Where is Jordynne Elegance? Today, either you’re one of the people chasing Zayn or you’re just filling time (or worse, you’re stuck in catering).
