Bray Studios in Berkshire is under the spotlight this weekend as the finalists to play the role of James Bond in the next iteration of the franchise have conducted their final screen tests.

The Daily Mail reports that “Fantastic Beasts” star Callum Turner kicked off the final round of screen tests on Friday at the historic production house on the River Thames, which was acquired by Amazon MGM Studios in 2024.

The other two top contenders, Jack Lowden and Josh O’Connor, are expected to test over the weekend, along with a potential mysterious fourth person yet to be revealed. All three of the revealed men are 36 years old.

Previously, Jacob Elordi and Jack O’Connell were both said to no longer be in the running, but rumours about 29-year-old Elordi are stirring again. 36-year-old O’Connell was in California a few days ago.

Multiple online fan polls have “Slow Horses” star Lowden as the firm favorite, taking at least 55-65% of the vote with Turner in second and O’Connor in third.

Lowden is currently in the midst of shooting the eighth season of “Slow Horses”, which won’t go to air until 2028. It’s not yet clear whether that will be the final season, as the series has now caught up to the novels (but several novellas remain).

Whomever wins the part will join an elite club of six names to date – Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.
