The Dallas Cowboys Outlast the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football

The Dallas Cowboys came into Philadelphia desperate for a win to get their season back on track. The Eagles needed a win to drown out the criticism they’ve received after completely mismanaging their star quarterback’s blood clot situation. That outcome left Jalen Hurts out for the remainder of the season.

The Cowboys got on the board with a Brandon Aubrey 55-yard field goal. However, the Eagles marched right down the field thanks to running back Saquon Barkley, who capped off their opening drive with an 8-yard touchdown. Dallas answered with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb.

Philadelphia took back the lead on a 5-yard touchdown run by Dameon Pierce. The Cowboys then retook the lead on a 21-yard pass from Prescott to George Pickens. They would also add another 27-yard field goal to push the lead to 20-14.

The Eagles’ Tanner McKee would toss a 4-yard touchdown pass to Makai Lemon to make it 21-20. Prescott would find Lamb for his second touchdown of the night on a 16-yard strike. In the fourth quarter, the Cowboys added a 24-yard field goal and a late 2-yard touchdown run by Javonte Williams to ice the game. At the final whistle, Dallas emerged victorious 38-21.

Prescott finished 15 of 27 for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns. Javonte Williams carried the ball 25 times for 155 yards and 1 touchdown. CeeDee Lamb notched his tenth career multi-touchdown game with 5 receptions for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns.

As for the Eagles, Tanner McKee, filling in for Hurts, went 20 of 35 for 211 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Barkley rushed seven times for 62 yards and 1 touchdown; he would leave the game with a back injury. Makai Lemon caught 7 receptions for 59 yards and 1 touchdown.

The win moves Dallas to 3-4; they have two relatively easy matchups against the Arizona Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts before facing the San Francisco 49ers. The 2-5 Eagles face off with the Commanders, Giants, and Steelers before spending Thanksgiving in Dallas for a rematch.

While this game kept the Cowboys’ playoff hopes alive, the Eagles look like their season will be over sooner rather than later. That is especially true if Barkley is out for an extended period, on top of Hurts being sidelined for the rest of the season.
