Arby’s Just Brought Back Its Thanksgiving Sandwiches, and Fans Are Already Excited

Thanksgiving may still be nearly a month away, but Arby’s is already serving up one of its most anticipated seasonal meals.

The fast-food chain has brought back its Deep Fried Turkey lineup for a limited time, including the Deep Fried Turkey Gobbler and Deep Fried Turkey Club. Both sandwiches returned to participating Arby’s locations nationwide on Oct. 26 and are available while supplies last.

And judging by some early reactions from Arby’s fans, the return was worth the wait.

The Deep Fried Turkey Gobbler Is Basically Thanksgiving on a Bun

The Deep Fried Turkey Gobbler is the more Thanksgiving-focused of the two sandwiches, combining several holiday staples into one oversized sandwich.

It starts with a quarter pound of thick-sliced, marinated deep-fried turkey, then gets topped with crispy onions, Swiss cheese, stuffing, cranberry spread and mayonnaise. Everything is served on a toasted sub bun.

It’s essentially the Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich without having to cook an entire turkey first.

The combination of turkey, stuffing and cranberry is also what gives the sandwich its distinctly holiday flavor, while the crispy onions add some crunch.

Arby's

For anyone who would rather skip the stuffing and cranberry, Arby’s is also bringing back the Deep Fried Turkey Club.

It features the same quarter pound of thick-sliced deep-fried turkey, but pairs it with crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise on a toasted sub bun. Both sandwiches are part of Arby’s limited-time Thanksgiving lineup and are available at participating restaurants nationwide.

Arby’s Fans Are Already Talking About It

The return has already generated plenty of excitement on Reddit.

In one thread on r/fastfood, a customer who tried the Gobbler on Oct. 27 said they were initially skeptical but ended up pleasantly surprised. The customer described getting a substantial sandwich with thick turkey, stuffing, crispy onion strings, Swiss cheese, cranberry sauce and mayo, ultimately saying they were happy with the texture and that the cranberry and stuffing worked particularly well together.

Another Reddit thread about the returning sandwiches was even more enthusiastic, with commenters celebrating their return and one person calling the Gobbler a “gobsend.” Others complained that the sandwich tends to disappear from the menu sooner than they’d like.

There are some caveats, though. One customer said an order appeared to have been made with regular turkey rather than the thicker deep-fried turkey, while another said the deep-fried aspect isn’t necessarily obvious just by looking at the sandwich.

The Thanksgiving Sandwiches Won’t Be Around Forever

Arby’s hasn’t announced a specific end date for the Deep Fried Turkey lineup. The company says both sandwiches are available for a limited time and only while supplies last. Customers can order the sandwiches in participating restaurants, at the drive-thru, online or through the Arby’s app.
