Couples looking for a travel trailer that feels like a small home have plenty of options to choose from, but few models deliver the same level of comfort, utility, and style as the 2027 Venture RV Stratus 231VRK.
This brand-new couple’s travel trailer is grabbing a lot of attention from the RV community, and for good reason. Venture RV outdid itself with this new floor plan, bringing together a spacious interior, modern styling, and residential comfort in a manageable size. A redesigned exterior, a king-size bed, an electric fireplace, and a dedicated coffee bar are just a few of the features that make this RV a head-turner.
Before moving further with this new model’s strengths, it’s worth mentioning a few words about the manufacturer. Located in Shipshewana, Indiana, Venture RV is a division of KZ RV, Inc., which operates as a subsidiary of Thor Industries. It has been around since 2012 and specializes in lightweight and ultra-lightweight travel trailers and fifth wheels.
Introduced in June 2026 as part of Venture RV’s Stratus Ultra-Lite lineup, the 231VRK is a dual-axle travel trailer with a large slide-out and is aimed at couples who want to spend more time on the road without giving up the comforts of home.
It measures 27 feet long (8.2 meters) and 8 feet (2.4 meters) wide and is built on a robust steel frame with an advanced wood-free composite wall system (Azdel panels) and high-gloss Lamilux fiberglass on the outside. The exterior has been refreshed with new graphics and colors, complemented by a painted front cap with a windshield, giving it a sleeker, more contemporary look.
Practical features are spread around the exterior, each included with a purpose. At the front, there are two 20-pound propane tanks under an easy-access cover, along with space for a suitable battery setup. A large pass-through storage compartment provides ample space for tools, camping equipment, and other items, while a large powered patio awning with an integrated LED light strip creates a nice shaded area at camp.
At the rear, the travel trailer has a bumper-mounted spare tire, a factory-installed ladder, and backup lights, and other handy features include the utility docking station, shore power connection, standard outlet, and prewiring for an observation camera. The trailer also comes with a walkable roof, four electric stabilizer jacks, and blue ground-effect underlighting that adds another modern touch.
The interior layout is designed to comfortably accommodate a couple and boasts a central living room flanked by a front bedroom and a rear kitchen. The sole slide-out expands the living area, creating a more roomy interior that fits residential-style furniture.
Finished in Warm Linen, the interior is modern and inviting. It features antique-white kitchen cabinets, wood-toned flooring, sleek upholstery, and a board-and-batten accent wall in the kitchen area. Large windows are placed in strategic spots to bring natural light into the living space, while blackout roller shades provide privacy when desired.
The front bedroom is only separated from the main living area through a curtain. It offers campers a walk-around king-size bed with a premium memory-foam mattress and nightstands, wardrobes, and power outlets/charging ports on either side. Overhead cupboards and an underbed storage compartment add more room for personal belongings.
The living room’s theater seating is located in the slide-out, along with part of the kitchen, while a cleverly designed entertainment center sits near the entrance. At first sight, it may look just like a regular entertainment center with a 40-inch wall-mounted TV and a fireplace, but a closer look reveals a permanent counter space, a pull-out dual-leaf table, and storage space behind the fireplace for chairs.
It’s such an ingenious solution for a compact space, providing a generous dining table without taking up permanent floor space. When not used for dining, it can also be set up as a place to work on the laptop.
The kitchen is quite wide and comfortable to work in. The cooking equipment is on the side, while the rear section is for meal prep. It integrates a large, single-bowl stainless-steel sink that comes with a cover, an integrated dish-drying rack, and a high-rise faucet with a sprayer. Appliances include an InVision oven and three-burner cooktop with a flush glass cover, a microwave, and a large refrigerator with freezer compartment. A floor-to-ceiling pantry with adjustable shelves is also included.
Another nifty addition is a dedicated coffee bar with space for your coffee machine and a bank of drawers for your barista accessories.
The bathroom shares the width of the trailer with the kitchen, which means it’s not very large. However, the space is efficiently utilized to include a full-size shower with ample headroom and shelves for toiletries, a vanity with storage underneath, a mirrored medicine cabinet, and a foot-flush porcelain toilet.
Other standard features include a large wardrobe at the entrance with shoe storage and a coat rack, a designated pet-dish location, and a Safe-Tek hidden storage compartment for valuables. For climate control, the travel trailer is equipped with a Coleman Whisper air-conditioner, a 20,000 BTU ducted propane furnace, and an RV Airflow System, while the water system includes a 45-gallon fresh water tank, a 38-pound gray tank, and a 38-pound black water tank.
The RV’s listed dry weight is 5,790 pounds (2,626 kg), offering easy towability. As for pricing, it will depend on the optional packages you chose to equip it with and the dealership, but the MSPR ranges from $60,800 to $63,145.
