2000 Film, Starring Bruce Willis, Ranked Among Greatest Thrillers of All Time

While Bruce Willis’ acting career is now over, his filmography throughout his time in the industry ranks among the best ever.

He starred in countless classics over the years, including Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense and many other great films.

One movie that often flies under the radar when discussing Willis’ best films, but still ranks among the greatest thrillers ever released, is the 2000 classic Unbreakable. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the film came on the heels of their success together on The Sixth Sense.

Unbreakable stars Willis as David Dunn and Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, a comic book art dealer better known as Mr. Glass.

The Rotten Tomatoes movie description reads, “David Dunn (Bruce Willis) is the sole survivor of a devastating train wreck. Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) is a mysterious stranger who offers a bizarre explanation as to why David escaped without a single scratch — an explanation which threatens to change David’s family and his life forever.”

Quentin Tarantino Called Unbreakable a “Masterpiece”

In a 2009 interview, director and producer Quentin Tarantino called Unbreakable “one of the masterpieces of our time” and described it as a “brilliant retelling of the Superman mythology.”

He singled out Willis’ performance as “magnificent” and called it the “best performance on film he’s ever given.”

Unbreakable Named Among the Greatest Movies of All Time

With a 71% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.3 out of 10 rating on IMDb, Unbreakable is widely regarded as one of the best thrillers ever released.

On IMDb’s community-voted list of the best suspense/thriller movies of all time, Unbreakable ranks No. 16. It also ranks No. 49 on Ranker’s list of the best psychological thrillers of all time.
