Crimson Desert’s Huge DLC, Charting the Unknown, Out Now on PS5

If Crimson Desert and all its post-launch additions weren’t already enough, studio Pearl Abyss has released a mammoth expansion in Charting the Unknown, available now on PS5 for £19.99 / $24.99.

You can catch the new launch trailer for the expansion above.

First and foremost, the new DLC introduces three new questlines for the three playable characters. These are all post-game missions, so you need to have completed the base campaign to access them. Across the three new questlines, you can look forward to “an ominous presence in the desert and a dangerous political conflict to a journey beyond time, and an ancient secret beneath the waves”.

You can also look forward to:

  • Sailing the seas in your own ship
  • Grabbing a diving suit for underwater exploration
  • Customise your house with edit options
  • Stronghold management
  • Romance certain characters and get married

Today’s new DLC looks to expand on an already ridiculously big PS5 open world game. Its scale and size were already off the charts, and now you can add the ocean to its playable space. In our second Crimson Desert PS5 review, we awarded an 8/10 score and said:

“It’s an all-consuming open world adventure that hits some truly incredible highs, and it’s already come a long, long way since launch. If you can stomach its more obtuse moments — of which there are many — then Crimson Desert borders on being brilliant.”
