  • Deliveries of the 2026 i6 began on October 29, with current wait times of 7 to 8 weeks.
  • The company plans to raise i6 production capacity to 20,000 units in November, with a further increase in December.

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) has produced 200,000 units of its Li i6 battery electric SUV as deliveries of the updated model begin and the company accelerates its production ramp-up to shorten customer wait times.

Li Xinyang, Li Auto’s product line head, announced the milestone on Weibo on Friday, about 13 months after the 5-seat SUV first went on sale in September 2025.

Deliveries of the 2026 Li i6 began across China on October 29, Li said. The company prepared vehicles for near-term delivery in advance and has accelerated its production ramp-up.

The current wait time for Li i6 orders is 7 to 8 weeks. Customers ordering now can take delivery before the end of the year, he said.

Under the current production plan, Li i6 capacity will reach 20,000 units in November and increase further in December, according to Li.

Li Auto’s in-house Mach M100 driver-assistance chip becomes standard, while battery capacity increases to 96 kWh.

The production milestone follows a decline in monthly i6 deliveries. Deliveries of the updated model and the capacity ramp-up will be key developments to watch in Li Auto’s battery electric vehicle business.

Li i6 deliveries totaled 7,379 units in September ahead of its latest update, down 56.54% from August and accounting for 23.19% of the company’s total that month, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

The Li i6 recorded 160,221 deliveries in the first 9 months of this year, bringing cumulative deliveries since launch to 189,192 by the end of September. The 200,000-unit milestone refers to cumulative production, rather than deliveries.

Li Auto launched the 2026 Li i6 on October 28, keeping its official starting price unchanged at 249,800 yuan ($37,210) while upgrading its in-house developed driver-assistance chip, battery and cabin features.

Customers purchasing on or before November 30 can receive introductory offers that bring the price to 239,800 yuan, 10,000 yuan below the official retail price.

The updated model comes standard with the in-house developed Mach M100 driver-assistance chip and a 96-kWh Lianshan 5C lithium iron phosphate battery. The rear-wheel-drive version’s CLTC range has increased to 780 kilometers (485 miles).

The Li i6 is also a key model in Li Auto’s European expansion. The company announced on October 12 that the model, named Li 6 in Europe, is scheduled to go on sale and begin deliveries in Norway and the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2027.

Li also said on Friday that cumulative production of Li Auto’s Li L6 extended-range SUV had reached 420,000 units, and that it had topped sales among extended-range models for 2 consecutive months.
