DC’s Absolute Universe has a major change coming: Catwoman, also known as Selina Kyle, is getting a longer solo comic series with six additional issues.
DC Comics has extended Absolute Catwoman from its planned six issues to 12. Writer Che Grayson and artist Bengal will return for issues #7 through #12, with the series continuing into 2027. Scott Snyder and Grayson launched the title with Bengal’s artwork as part of DC’s Absolute Universe.
What is the recent Catwoman pregnancy twist that happened in Absolute Batman?
The announcement follows a major reveal in Absolute Batman #25. Its final page shows Selina Kyle arriving at Bruce Wayne’s home and revealing that she is pregnant. The moment raises new questions about their relationship and the future of their child. It also adds a new twist to Selina’s story in the Absolute Universe.
Snyder confirmed that the events of the issue were part of the larger plan for Absolute Catwoman from the beginning. In an official statement, he said, “The events of Absolute Batman #25 have been in the larger plans from the series pitch onward, so this moment was also part of the planning for Absolute Catwoman.”
Grayson also welcomed the extension, saying, “Working with Scott, Bengal, and the rest of the team has truly been a dream come true, and to know that we get to continue Selina’s story is such an honor.” She added that the upcoming stories will deepen Selina’s ties to Gotham and beyond. The additional issues will allow the team to develop those connections further.
Bengal shared his excitement about continuing the project. He said, “When I was invited on board for Absolute Catwoman, I immediately felt it was exactly where I belonged.” He also described the opportunity as a “dream job.”
Meanwhile, Absolute Catwoman #4 is scheduled to arrive in comic shops and participating digital retailers on November 4. Selina and the Calicos will race to find the Yarn, a powerful supercomputer, before Cassandra Cain and the League of Shadows. The extended run will give readers six more issues to follow Selina’s story.
