ABC’s General Hospital, Peacock’s Days of Our Lives and the CBS duo of The Young and the Restless and Beyond the Gates are up for the marquee Outstanding Daytime Drama prize Friday night at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
The ceremony is being held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and is streaming on the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ YouTube channel.

General Hospital is going for its sixth consecutive Drama Series triumph after taking the title again at the 2025 Daytime Emmys. It will have new competition in Beyond the Gates, which is in its first year of eligibility.
Gates did snag its first-ever Emmy already this evening, scoring a co-win in the Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup for a Daytime Program with The Kelly Clarkson Show, which came into the night leading all talk shows with 10 nominations for its final season. Beyond the Gates‘ Ambyr Michelle later won the Emerging Talent nod for playing Eva Thomas.

Overall, The Young and the Restless leads all Daytime Emmy nominees this year with 18, followed by Beyond the Gates with 15 and General Hospital with 13. CBS is the leader among networks and platforms, lapping its closest competition from PBS and ABC.
Among other notable wins so far: Sherri Shepherd won for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host after news this year that her eponymous show wasn’t returning in the fall.
