Legendary ’80s Rock Band Announces Major News 53 Years After Their Debut

More than 50 years of touring is a long time to collect stories, backstage memories and a few moments that probably shouldn’t make the final cut. But the last chapter of a legendary rock career deserves a proper look back, especially when the curtain finally comes down in the city where it all began.

A new film will take viewers behind the scenes of a farewell run that included decades of history, larger-than-life performances and two emotional nights at Madison Square Garden. Fans will also get to see the moments that happened away from the stage, offering a different perspective on a career that spanned half a century.

Classic Rock Band Takes Fans Behind the Scenes of Its Final Tour

Kiss announced that KISS: End of The Road will arrive this fall, documenting the band’s final farewell tour and the closing chapter of its touring career. The band first formed 53 years ago.

The documentary will initially debut on the band’s website through streaming technology partner Kiswe before expanding to additional platforms. The film is directed by DJ Viola and produced by Leslie Greif of Big Dreams Entertainment and Elemeno Productions.

Paul Stanley described the farewell tour as the culmination of 50 years spent pushing the live concert experience forward. He also said the documentary will give fans an opportunity to see the unseen moments that helped make the final run so memorable.

“The documentary takes everyone along with us to see and be a part of all the unseen moments that made this last tour one of the wildest, most memorable rides of our career,” Stanley shared in a statement.

Gene Simmons also reflected on the significance of bringing the touring chapter to a close in New York, where the band’s story began.

Madison Square Garden Takes Center Stage in New Film

Simmons pointed to the band’s Madison Square Garden performances as an extra unique part of the documentary, noting that the shows were filled with raw energy.

“This documentary showcases the closing chapter of our touring career, back in NY where it all started for us,” Simmons said. He added that the film offers an inside perspective on the New York performances for the first time.

The documentary’s rollout will include several streaming platforms, with additional details expected throughout the fall. The first major event is scheduled for Nov. 19, when KISS: End of The Road will premiere through a special livestream on the band’s official website. The event will be presented by Mercury Studios, a music-focused content studio.

For fans who followed Kiss through the makeup, the massive stages and all those years on the road, this is a chance to revisit the final stretch from a different seat in the house.
