While you’re waiting for your flight, you can get a manicure, a table massage, or even a haircut. You can request a pair of Normatec Elite compression boots (retail price: $1,099) to help with your circulation before takeoff. Or if you are feeling more social, you can head to “the Salon,” where abstract art hangs on the wall and chandeliers dangle from the ceiling. Order the coconut chia pudding or bagel-and-lox platter if you’re there for breakfast, duck confit agnolotti or a Mediterranean chicken panini on house-made ciabatta for lunch. For dinner, there’s a New York strip, and caviar service is always available.
When it’s time to go, you’ll pass through a private security check with a dedicated TSA agent. Then you’ll climb in a BMW (suitcases already loaded) which drives you across the tarmac directly to your plane. Forget boarding with Zone 8 or gatechecking your carry-on.
This is PS at LAX—a private, members only terminal at Los Angeles International. It’ll cost you to get in: One-time access to the Salon (and nothing else) without a membership is priced at $1,295. For frequent fliers, an annual baseline membership starts at $1,250 and goes up to $4,850. Private suites cost an additional $3,650 or $4,950 for four people, depending on the type of membership.
Unsurprisingly, it’s become a see-and-don’t-be-seen hub for LA celebrities wary of attracting the camera-wielding masses at commercial airports (and the paparazzi that stake out the terminal). Gigi Hadid, Gabrielle Union, Hailey Bieber, Jamie Foxx, and Kourtney Kardashian are just some of the famous faces that are known to frequent PS at LAX.
