More freezer space is always a good thing, whether you want to buy in bulk at the butcher, can’t resist a Costco run, or have an ice cream habit that would make Ben and Jerry blush. Chest freezers are solid, but they take up a lot of room and require bending over to dig around for the stuff on the bottom. Upright freezers have smaller footprints and are easier on the back, and Walmart has a name-brand option on sale with a huge discount.
The Frigidaire 6.5-Cubic Foot Upright Freezer is on sale for $218 at Walmart, 56% off its normal $490 price tag. It’s an ideal freezer for garages, basements, RVs, and anywhere else you might want a bit of extra storage space for frozen items.

The outside of this freezer is noticeably slender, at just 21.26 inches wide and 22.24 inches deep, with a vinyl-coated metal finish that’s both sleek and easy to clean. A recessed handle and flat back that allow for flush placement against a wall add to the compact feel. It feels much bigger inside, where you’ll find 6.5 cubic feet of space that can be set between -11.2 and 6.8 degrees Fahrenheit using the external temperature dial. There are five wire shelves to help keep things organized and a reversible door to ensure that the freezer fits your space without issue.
