ESIC bans NOMERCY for match manipulation

The revised decision comes in response to social media posts made by playN “displaying apparent cash and other proceeds of financial crime,” which ESIC determined constituted an “egregious breach which created the appearance of improper conduct under its Code of Conduct.”

ESIC did not specify what social media post incited the additional sanction, however a now-deleted post made by playN was captured in a screenshot by NartOutHere, which appears to show the player holding a large amount of cash with the caption “2029 we back to Roman Imperium Cup.”

playN‘s initial ban of three years was issued as part of wider sanctions levied against NOMERCY for “match manipulation.” The 22-year-old received a lighter ban than some of his teammates due to his “detailed responses, financial and communications production, continued engagement, youth and relative lack of experience.”
