Behemoth! follows Alex Serian, played by Pedro. Alex is a highly skilled cellist who returns to the city where he grew up after 20 years away from Los Angeles. He comes from a family of musicians with close ties to Hollywood, and as a child, he was a prodigy. His parents encouraged him to pursue music, sharing the same passion, although their relationship to the art form was fraught. Despite Alex’s talent and the possibility of a prestigious career, he has spent much of his life distancing himself from that world, which expected too much of him.

His return to Los Angeles is yet another form of escape, this time from a burgeoning career in Chicago and a romantic relationship with a woman named Carol (Olivia Wilde). Now, Alex wants to be close to his ailing mother and mend his relationship with his brother, played by Will Arnett. Meanwhile, Alex returns to playing in orchestras that score movies, finding himself immersed again in the musical world he tried to leave behind.

Taking on this role wasn’t easy for Pascal. During the event at The Royal Festival Hall, the actor described how challenging it was to play a cellist, especially given the need to play the instrument convincingly: “I’d never been so afraid,” he said. “I’ve been nervous about other jobs and the physical…emotional demands, but it was nothing like this,” he confessed. “I would choose fighting The Mountain in Game of Thrones over learning how to play the cello convincingly. I would rather be, I don’t know, tossed off of a cliff with Nicolas Cage than have to learn how to play the cello.”
