‘True Detective’ Season 5: Nicolas Cage & Antonio Banderas Set To Lead HBO Crime Anthology, Production Begins In 2027

Just days after Nicolas Cage hinted that he might be joining HBO’s “True Detective,” his involvement is now official, and he’s bringing Antonio Banderas along for the ride. The two actors will headline the fifth season of the acclaimed crime anthology, with production scheduled to begin in 2027.

According to Variety, and quickly confirmed by HBO, Banderas (“Pain and Glory,” “The Mask of Zorro”) will play Rai García, while Cage (“Leaving Las Vegas,” “Pig”) will portray Henry Logan.
