It’s been more than a decade since Gregg Araki last directed a feature, but the filmmaker behind “Mysterious Skin,” “The Doom Generation,” and “Nowhere” hasn’t exactly mellowed with age. His latest, “I Want Your Sex,” is a sexually charged, candy-colored satire about desire, power, and the increasingly complicated dynamics between younger and older generations. Now available in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and on demand, we’ve got an exclusive clip featuring Charli XCX and Cooper Hoffman.
The film stars Hoffman (“Licorice Pizza”) as Elliot, a somewhat directionless twentysomething who lands what initially seems like a dream job working for Erika Tracy (Olivia Wilde), a celebrated artist and professional provocateur. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, depending on your perspective, Erika has rather unconventional expectations of her new employee.
Before long, Elliot becomes her sexual muse, and their increasingly tangled relationship sends him down a rabbit hole of obsession, shifting power dynamics, and questionable decisions. Complicating matters further is his girlfriend, played by Charli XCX, who understandably has her own feelings about the arrangement, and his emotionally repressed roommate, played by Chase Sui Wonders.
The exclusive clip spotlights Charli and Hoffman, two performers who bring very different energies to Araki’s peculiar universe. For Charli, whose transition from pop superstar to increasingly prolific screen presence continues, the film offers another opportunity to explore her acting ambitions beyond the recording studio.
Making its world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, “I Want Your Sex” marked Araki’s first feature in 12 years and brought his signature mix of sexual politics, outrageous humor, and heightened visual style into the Gen Z era.
Our Sundance review singled out Wilde and Hoffman’s performances as its strongest assets. Meanwhile, in our interview with Araki and Hoffman, the pair discussed their collaboration, the film’s intimate scenes, and its lengthy journey to the screen.
The ensemble also includes Daveed Diggs, Mason Gooding, Margaret Cho, and Johnny Knoxville.
“I Want Your Sex” is now available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and on demand from Magnolia Pictures, following its October 20 home-entertainment release. Watch our exclusive clip featuring Charli XCX and Cooper Hoffman below.
