Earlier this week, fans of the Taylor Sheridan series Mayor of Kingstown got the news they’ve been waiting for when the premiere date for the crime drama’s fifth and final season was confirmed.
Season 5 of Mayor of Kingstown will officially kick off on January 15, 2027, over a year after the Season 4 finale, which aired on December 28, 2025. “This season, in the wake of Tracy’s murder and the vengeance visited upon Callahan by Mike (Jeremy Renner) and Kyle (Taylor Handley), FBI agent Russell Hardy (David Morse) arrives in Kingstown searching for the ‘fugitive’ Callahan,” Paramount’s official synopsis for Season 5 teased in a press release.
“A true lawman, Agent Hardy threatens to unearth all of Mike’s sins and secrets and disrupt Kingstown’s tenuous balance of power.”
Since the last episode of Mayor of Kingstown, the series, which once streamed exclusively on Paramount+, made its debut on Netflix, the world’s biggest streaming platform. On October 5, all four existing seasons of the show were added to Netflix’s U.S. library, with the fifth and final season expected to be added at a later date.
When Can We Expect ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 5 on Netflix?
Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 wrapped up on Paramount+ on December 28, 2025, and arrived on Netflix, with the previous three seasons of the show, on October 5, little over nine months after the season finale first premiered.
The fifth and final season of Mayor of Kingstown consists of eight episodes instead of the usual ten, and the series finale is expected to drop on March 5, 2027. Should this nine-month cap happen again, all of Mayor of Kingstown should be available to stream on Netflix around December 2027 at the latest, when Season 5 hopefully arrives.
There’s every chance, however, that Season 5 could arrive earlier than that, and the previous season finale premiere-Netflix window isn’t set in stone. Either way, Paramount+ has the early streaming rights to the series, as Paramount is the company behind Mayor of Kingstown. Netflix subscribers keen to get their fix of Season 5 should keep their eyes peeled in the months following the series finale’s first airing for a potential early arrival.
