Hollywood loves a sequel, but apparently some comedies are so beloved that studios can’t convince their creators to revisit them. Case in point: “Superbad,” the beloved 2007 comedy starring Jonah Hill and Michael Cera, which never got a follow-up despite producer Judd Apatow pushing for one. And while that ship may have sailed, Apatow hasn’t entirely given up on revisiting some of his other hits, including “Bridesmaids.”
Appearing on The Daily Beast’s “Obsessed: The Podcast,” Apatow discussed his failed attempts to get “Superbad 2” off the ground and whether audiences might ever see another “Bridesmaids.”
“I mean, I lost the battle to make a ‘Superbad’ sequel,” Apatow admitted.
