Why We Love This Deal

Though many engines today are designed to make repairs easier (even after roadside emergencies), it doesn’t always seem like it. Their folds, nooks, and crannies can make the human brain seem simple by comparison. Even a well-made ratchet set can’t unfasten what it can’t reach. Now, there’s a new Craftsman power tool that’s stronger yet longer than ever before to help you get to those hard-to-reach spaces, and Amazon is selling it for nearly 40% off.

The Craftsman V20 Extended Reach Electric Ratchet is now on sale for $99. It’s a longer upgrade to the older Craftsman V20 Cordless Ratchet Wrench, also $50 off at this time, available for $89.

What Shoppers Should Know

  • Total Length: 18.3 inches
  • Weight: 3.5 pounds
  • Max Speed: 300 RPM
  • Max Torque: 40 foot-pounds
  • Anvil Sizes: ¼, ⅜, and ½ (too-free interchangeable)
  • Powered By: Any Craftsman V20 battery (not included)
  • Model: CMCF936B
  • Best Use Case: Use this to get into difficult-to-reach places in your engine.

So, what’s the big upgrade with this model? This model, the CMCF936B, extends 4 inches further into the abyss of whatever engine, nook, or cranny that you’re working into than the older CMCF935B model thanks to an elongated handle. It matters quite a bit, too, since these are quite thick and the extension shaft is significantly narrower than the handle body. And, while we’re smearing other models, Craftsman explicitly mentions Ryobi’s $169 PBLRC25B extended reach ratchet, saying the Craftsman model is 15% faster.

Where this model and the previous model don’t differ, however, is in the extreme versatility. At the head, you can use interchangeable anvils, with ¼, ⅜, and ½ sizes available, making it very good to go with your existing Craftsman mechanics tool set. They also have an LED light so you can see what you’re doing, no matter the reach you’re getting. It’s also possible to use this with any Craftsman V20 battery, which you can use from your existing collection.

Should you get this model right now? Again, both the extended reach and older, regular model are on sale right now. Since they have the same switching anvil, LED light, and power, only one question remains. Do I need the extra reach or the extra $10 more?

What Shoppers Are Saying

One reviewer said, “This is a great addition to my power tools. Works great, fits in tight spots, weight is balanced well, and strong enough to loosen the bolts/nuts.”

The Craftsman V20 Extended Reach Electric Ratchet is down to $99 while this offer lasts. It’s not the only Craftsman V20 line deal available on Amazon right now, however, and we’ve found some more that you may be interested in at this time.
