Paramount+’s two biggest mob dramas battle for streaming supremacy as Sylvester Stallone and Tom Hardy lead rival crime hits that both drop every Friday for the rest of Fall 2026. Stallone just recently returned for the fourth season of Tulsa King, which was originally created by Taylor Sheridan and currently ranks #1 on Paramount+’s worldwide streaming chart. Tulsa King season 4 recently dethroned MobLand, Tom Hardy’s star-studded crime drama that returned for its highly anticipated second season roughly one month ago.
Both MobLand and Tulsa King are massive streaming hits for Paramount+, but only one of them can officially claim the top viewership spot on Paramount+’s global charts. Before Tulsa King season 4 premiered, MobLand firmly held onto that elite rank and has since dropped down to #3 worldwide under South Park. Although both mob series are competing for the ultimate viewership crown right now, they actually both complement each other quite well, with one, Tulsa King, balancing more of a comedic act than the other, grittier crime series.
Tulsa King Has Overtaken MobLand At The Top Of Paramount+’s Global Charts
It’s no surprise that Tulsa King has become the most-watched show worldwide on Paramount+ due to the enormous pull of Stallone and Sheridan, and has already been confirmed for a fifth season and the upcoming spinoff, Frisco King, starring Samuel L. Jackson. Tulsa King also enjoys one of the best critical receptions out of any Sheridan series, earning an overall Rotten Tomatoes score of 86% across four seasons. On the other hand, MobLand also has major draw with Guy Ritchie attached and a third season already being hinted at weeks before season 2 wraps up in November.
MobLand is also highly acclaimed, earning a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score for its second season, and sporting one of the best ensemble casts in modern streaming thanks to Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. That said, even MobLand getting a series-high critic score on RT wasn’t enough for the series to hold onto the #1 viewership spot it had just claimed weeks before. The disparity is even greater on Paramount+’s U.S. streaming charts, with Tulsa King reigning at #1 once again while MobLand no longer even charts in the U.S. Top 10, being ousted by major CBS titles like Survivor, Marshals, and Tracker.
All things considered, the notable decline in MobLand season 2’s viewership in the United States does not indicate that the series is only popular in global markets. It does indicate, however, that Tulsa King has a much stronger hold on U.S. audiences, which may make it very hard for MobLand to compete with it viewership-wise in general. MobLand did dethrone another popular Taylor Sheridan series, Lioness, soon after its season 3 finale was released, but has primailry seemed to benefit from being released in between two Sheridan projects.
MobLand Is Still One Of The Biggest Original Series Paramount+ Has Ever Had
Tulsa King and Taylor Sheridan shows may continue to have a firm grasp on Paramount+’s viewership charts time and time again, but that certainly does not mean that MobLand is not worth checking out, especially during its improved season 2 run. MobLand is still one of the biggest original series that Paramount+ has ever produced and has more than enough appeal to sustain its sizable viewership, even if it does get caught in the crossfire of two major Sheridan series rollouts during a typically busy Fall release schedule.
MobLand’s season 1 launch initially broke streaming records on Paramount+ records with 2.2 million viewers on its premiere day and a total of 8.8 million viewers within its first seven days on the platform. It went onto achieve 26 million viewers, becoming Paramount+’s #2 most-watched original series of all time, which only trailed another popular Sheridan series, Landman, at the time. MobLand season 2’s viewership has not been officially released, but its global charting position proves it’s still a massive success for Paramount+, even if Tulsa King may be holding onto the streamer’s mob series crown for the foreseeable future.
