‘Dead by Daylight’ Is Losing an Iconic Horror Movie Villain From Its Stores

One of the reasons why Dead by Daylight is an extremely popular game is that it has brought together many of the biggest horror movie icons. After all, its current lineup includes Freddy, Jason, Ghostface, Leatherface, Chucky, Sadako from The Ring, and Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise. Sadly, however, one of horror’s legendary villains is now set to leave the DBD store in a matter of weeks.

Why ‘Dead by Daylight’ Is Losing Another Licensed Horror Villain

When Behaviour Interactive licenses famous characters to add to Dead by Daylight’s roster, that comes with the risk of losing the rights in the future. As a result, there is a history of characters leaving the game’s store. Now, on October 23, the Dead by Daylight X account announced that another licensed character will no longer be available to buy in the game’s store as of November 24, 2026.

“We welcomed The Good Guy out of his box and into The Fog nearly three years ago, but it’s now time for the Chucky Chapter to leave the shelf. On November 24, 2026, the Chapter and its associated content will be removed from in-game and first-party stores.”

On the bright side for current users, the company confirmed that anyone who pays to unlock the Child’s Play villain and any of his skins will be able to continue using them. As a result, any players who act before November 24 will still be able to play as Chucky or Tiffany, since she is one of his “Legendary” skins that is sold separately. Additionally, the announcement revealed that there will be a sale on everything related to the Child’s Play chapter starting on October 26.

Chucky’s exit will not mark the first time that Dead by Daylight has lost iconic horror characters. For example, after previously being part of the game, Hellraiser’s Pinhead and Halloween’s Michael Myers and Laurie Strode are all no longer available to buy in DBD stores. Additionally, the game previously lost The Demogorgon, Steve Harrington, and Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things before a deal was struck to bring them back.
