Expanding his luxury grooming empire, Drake’s latest OVO and Better World Fragrance House collab features woody-funk notes and a $156 price tag.
Drake’s latest drop isn’t yet another hip-hop hit, but rather a very meta cologne collaboration between his October’s Very Own line and the chart-topping rapper’s Better World Fragrance House.
Debuting today via October’s Very Own, DoSayDo Eau de Parfum (priced at $156) further expands Drake’s universe of seasonal scents, building off his Better World Fragrance House, known for lavish candles and colognes like the amber, woodsy Summer Mink.
The rapper’s passion for fragrances has grown over the years, BWFH notes. “Drake’s relationship to scent is deeply personal. Over the years he has worked to develop distinctive scents to curate and improve space,” the company noted. For Better World, that means working with perfume expert Michael Carby to “create a better world through scent,” now brought to life once more in a collaborative fragrance.
DoSayDo draws inspiration from the designer and “God’s Plan” hitmaker, boasting top notes of passionfruit and clary sage oil along with the woodsy funk of cannabis. Middle notes of black pepper oil and rose oil mingle with petitgrain, while the base of DoSayDo Eau de Parfum is spurred along by cognac, roasted tonka and white cedarwood in lavish fashion.
In releasing his own Summer Mink fragrance through BWFH, the “Nice For What” rapper played a crazed cologne king in a cheeky video touting last year’s launch. Drake’s other fragrance releases include Cloudar Eau de Parfum, featuring mandarin, warm ginger and vetiver, along with Carby Musk Fragrance Oil.
The latest Eau de Parfum, which also drops November 6, is billed as a “citrus aromatic scent with a warm, addictive finish and lasting presence” that’s presumably a fine companion to a night out.
Drake’s personal taste is nothing if not elevated, from his recently-acquired custom safari-style G-Wagen to a one-of-one Rolex reportedly worth $5 million. The Canadian rap royal has somehow managed to churn out more music in the midst of his global business mogul pursuits, including the May release of surprise triple-album drop Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour, with “Whisper My Name” proving a fan favorite.
