McDonald’s has finally brought its popular Big Tasty burger to North America, but customers in the US will have to miss out on the new release.
The burger has been available in several international markets for years, including the UK, where it has regularly returned as a limited-time menu item.
Now, the fast-food giant has introduced the Big Tasty in Canada for the first time, alongside a larger version featuring two beef patties.
McDonald’s launches Big Tasty and Double Big Tasty in Canada
McDonald’s officially launched the Big Tasty in Canada on October 27, 2026, with the burger available for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide.
The sandwich features a 100% Canadian beef patty topped with smoky-flavored Big Tasty Sauce, two slices of processed cheese, tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and slivered onions, all served on a sesame seed bun.
Customers can also order the Double Big Tasty, which includes two beef patties and three slices of cheese alongside the same toppings and signature sauce.
McDonald’s CanadaAccording to McDonald’s Canadian menu, the standard burger contains 620 calories, while the double version comes in at 900 calories.
Dexerto has tried the burger for ourselves, and we can confirm the name is accurate. It is big, and it’s tasty.
The company has not announced an official end date for the promotion or provided nationwide pricing for either burger.
Despite the launch bringing the Big Tasty to North America, neither version is currently available on McDonald’s US menu, and the company has not announced plans to introduce them.
However, American customers may recognize the name from the Big N’ Tasty, a different burger that was previously sold in the US before being discontinued in 2011.
Unlike the Big Tasty, that sandwich featured a quarter-pound beef patty with ketchup, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles.
The Canadian launch follows several other international menu additions throughout 2026, including the McExtreme Pulled Pork from Spain, Chicken Parmi Burger from Australia, and Garlic and Black Pepper Chicken Nuggets from Japan.
For now, customers hoping to try the Big Tasty in North America will need to visit a participating McDonald’s restaurant in Canada.
While US customers are missing out on the Big Tasty, McDonald’s has another major release planned for November.
The chain recently announced the return of its Pokemon Happy Meal on November 10, featuring 15 collectible toys and 15 trading cards. The promotion will also roll out internationally, including in Canada, over the coming months.
