Carlex Design keeps working its magic by releasing all kinds of cool custom takes on the iconic Mercedes G-Wagen, and some of these rides end up in the hands of the rich and famous.

Case in point, meet the latest project from the famous Polish tuner, which is called the Carlex Moss Vintage. This build is said to have been “inspired by nature” and “made for journey,” and and it has ended up in the possession of Chris Brown. According to Creative Bespoke, the 37-year-old American singer, songwriter, and actor, who has been active in the industry since 2002, is the proud owner of this modded Mercedes-AMG G 63, and he apparently calls it the Green Lantern.

So, what makes this particular ride that special, you ask? Well, pretty much everything when it comes to the exterior and interior, because it has been almost fully customized. But why “almost?” Because Carlex Design still does not offer power boosts for its builds, and that’s a pity, as they should definitely expand their reach to include the oily bits. But even if it does not offer more oomph, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 is still very potent, and that’s without any mods whatsoever.

But what does that mean exactly? Well, since we’ve started talking about the powertrain, we might as well remind you that 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) is a 4.3-second affair in the standard Mercedes-AMG G 63. The model has 577 horsepower (585 ps/430 kW) available via the right pedal and 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque. That is how much the V8 engine, with its bi-turbo and 4.0-liter displacement, churns out.

Sporting a bi-tone look that mixes green on the lower parts of the body with black on the pillars and roof, this particular Mercedes-AMG G 63 also benefits from a few other enhancements. For instance, it has a new bumper at the front that looks like it came from a long-gone era. The Panamericana grille, which has vertical slats on the standard G 63, has been replaced by a new one with horizontal slats, which is decorated with the Carlex Design logo in the middle.

The three-pointed star emblem proudly sits on the hood, and this vehicle appears to feature power running boards for enhanced ingress and egress. The rear bumper is also new, and shaped to look like a classic one, and from what we can tell, the wheel arches are a bit more pronounced. A pinstripe-like element also decorates this Mercedes-AMG G 63, and the ride also sports some chrome accents here and there for a more vintage look.

Speaking of “vintage,” this word is best used to describe the wheels. If you are familiar with Carlex Design’s work, then you know that they have recently introduced quite a few Mercedes-AMG G 63 SUVs that feature these exact wheels. These combine silver and green, and they were shod in new tires with a partial white wall look. Last but not least, when it comes to the exterior, anyway, is the custom spare wheel holder attached to the rear door. Well, this and the usual Carlex Design emblems.

Opening the door will reveal a very classy-looking interior. Here, the Polish tuner signed the entire upholstery. This includes the chequered design on the seats and on the right side of the dashboard panel, as well as the leather upholstery wrapped around the seats outer edges, the upper and lower parts of the dashboard panel, the center console, steering wheel, door cards, and other parts of the cockpit.

The seatbacks and headrests are home to some special logos, the pillars and headliner have been wrapped in Alcantara, and there is also new trim on deck, as far as we can tell. And in plain Carlex Design fashion, we would not be surprised at all to learn that the fully custom interior has a better overall quality than the stock one.

And to be honest, this particular Mercedes-AMG G 63 is definitely an automotive work of art capable of turning heads wherever it goes. Thus, congratulations to the peeps at Carlex Design for pulling yet another cool project, and one that has a very famous owner, because the so-called Green Lantern is definitely something to write home about.

We would have loved to wrap things up by revealing how much Chris Brown paid for the Carlex Design Moss Vintage, but the truth is that we do not know. Nevertheless, this build is definitely no bargain, and if we were to guess, we’d say that it has likely been well over half a million dollars. However, you may want to refrain from quoting us on that number, as that’s our two cents, and should be taken accordingly.

A brand new Mercedes-AMG G 63, on the other hand, will set you back a minimum of $198,750 in the United States of America for the latest model year, and that’s before destination, options, and dealer fees.
