Soueast has climbed to sixth in Egypt’s passenger car market and fourth among Chinese brands, little more than a year after entering
Soueast’s S08 DM was Egypt’s best-selling plug-in hybrid in September, just three months after its local launch, according to rankings published by Egyptian motoring outlet Marchdair. Soueast did not disclose sales volumes.
The brand entered Egypt in July 2025 and now ranks sixth in the country’s passenger car market and fourth among Chinese brands. The S08 DM is aimed at families and has been tuned and validated for high temperatures and dusty conditions.
Soueast plans to show its plug-in hybrids at the EVs Electrify Egypt Summit in December and to roll out the S08 DM and S06 DM in further markets.
Without volumes, the size of the S08 DM’s lead is hard to judge. Even so, reaching sixth place in little over a year shows how quickly Chinese brands are gaining ground in North Africa as they look beyond an increasingly guarded Europe.
