Precisely 170 copies of the Avenger 4xe Hybrid Edition X will be produced exclusively for the Japanese market. As per Stellantis Japan, the suggested retail price is 5,240,000 yen, tax included, regardless of paint finish. The limited-run model is nothing more than a styling-and-comfort affair with a bit of corporate poetry as the finishing touch.
X is the corporate poetry in question, with Stellantis Japan claiming that X stands for City x Outdoor, Weekday x Weekend, and Style x Capability. To peeps who can understand marketing talk beyond the fluff, that means the Avenger 4xe Hybrid Edition X is a daily that also meets the demands of users who prioritize styling, comfort, and the adventure-oriented lifestyle.
The visual treatment kicks off with surgically applied orange touches, beginning with orange for the seven-slot grille and orange X signature badging. The rest of the recipe is a black roof laid over two paint options, namely Stone and Concrete Grey. The manufacturer’s Japanese subsidiary has confirmed 85 units apiece.
Stone is an earthy tone pitched as being a sophisticated color in the urban jungle yet visible off the beaten path, while Concrete Grey is a more self-explanatory color. Inside, customers are presented with black leather seats, power adjustments for the driver’s seat, and heating for both front seats.
Underneath all of that, you will find the 4xe Hybrid powertrain the Japanese-market Avenger received back in March 2026. Said electrified setup pairs a 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-four gasser developed by French colossus Groupe PSA with a 48-volt system that feeds two electric motors. One handles the rear axle, which isn’t connected to the tranny by a prop shaft.
This electric 4×4 solution is especially interesting when the fronts experience wheel slip, for electric drive also means near-instant torque delivery. Both electric motors develop 28 horsepower, with the front unit integrated into the six-speed transmission. All told, Stellantis Japan promises 145 ps (143 hp) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) at full chatter from the all-wheel-drive crossover.
In optimal conditions, the small crossover needs 9.5 seconds to hit 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour). Despite being a 48-volt system, the Avenger 4xe Hybrid Edition X can be driven in full-electric mode at low speeds. Unfortunately, just like the rest of the range, the special edition also carries a 350,000-yen economic fluctuation surcharge that Stellantis Japan introduced earlier this year.
The company is citing the weak yen and rising manufacturing and logistics costs. The 350,000-yen surcharge applies to compact and urban models, while Jeep Wrangler customers have to spend 400,000 yen. All economic fluctuation surcharges are baked into the suggested retail price.
Originally priced at 4.99 million yen, the Avenger 4xe Hybrid for Japan currently retails at 5.19 million yen. That’s 32,795 dollars at current exchange rates, while the special edition is roughly 33,105 freedom eagles.
