This Expandable Travel Trailer Is “Not Your Ordinary Caravan,” Now Available to Order

Well, that was fast! One month after its public debut as prototype, this unique, absolutely innovative and not at all “ordinary” travel trailer is ready to go international. And that’s exactly what it’s doing: Beauer X6 is already available for orders in many countries.

Beauer X6 is one of the two new models added to the Beauer catalog, which is still built around the flagship X4 model, previously known as Beauer 3X. It debuted in prototype form at the 2026 Dusseldorf Caravan Salon just last month (September), then made its way across the pond for the 2026 Caravan & Motorhome Show at NEC Birmingham, in the UK.

While here, it obviously won over a new legion of fans, which is just as good since it’s already available for orders. River Motorhomes, the exclusive distributor for Beauer products, carries the flagship X4 and the X6, and will also be selling the larger X8. They were also the ones to show the Beauer X6 at the trade event and then offer it on display at their Sutton showroom.

With River Motorhomes, Beauer is extending the partner network across Europe. The Beauer X6 is also available in Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and its native France, with first deliveries scheduled for late 2027.

For the time being, potential customers can use the online configurator to place an order. Prices start at €74,990/£74,990 before options, but you should bear in mind that the list for those options is quite extensive. They’re not necessary by any means, but they will enhance comfort and add extra convenience.

So, what exactly is it about Beauer X6 that makes it so special?

If you really need to ask that, you don’t know Beauer. The name goes back to 2012, when it was still spelled BeauEr and the original 3X was also simply BeauEr, the transformable travel trailer – a concept for a telescopic towable that would triple its size at camp but travel in a very compact form factor. The following year, this concept went into limited production and has only evolved since.

The current lineup includes the X4, which is the old 3X rebranded and refined, and the new X6 and the X8. Each number refers to the number of people that will be able to sleep inside each model, so the Beauer X6 has a maximum of six berths, depending on how you choose to spec one of the two available bedrooms.

The main idea behind the X6 is the same telescopic mechanism as in the smaller X4, but with a larger footprint to begin with. In travel mode, the Beauer X6 is like a box on wheels, a single-axle square travel trailer with elegant rounded corners and seemingly no hint of its real size when at maximum capacity.

Overall length is 7.2 meters (23.6 feet), with a width in travel model of 2.15 meters (7 feet), which expands to 3.6 meters (12 feet) once you set up camp. It does that by using a double-model construction, and using a motor to slide the slightly smaller module out of the larger one.

The whole process takes just 60 seconds and is fully automated, so you can enjoy more time at your destination and waste less with complicated setups, as the UK distributor puts it. The idea is that you also get to travel with a full six-person home in a much more manageable footprint.

Construction is with fiberglass shells on an AL-KO chassis, with AL-KO stabilizers and shock absorbers, and large, awning-style caravan windows with integrated blinds and flyscreens. The window on the campsite opens all the way up and the lower section of that panel drops down in the form of a terrace, which gives the X6 something far nicer than the ability to expand at camp: its own private terrace with spectacular (campsite) views.

Inside the first module, you get a lounge that doubles as a third sleeping area right by that terrace, a nice kitchen you can have standard or upgrade to be full-electric, and a compact but theoretically dry bathroom. Practically, it’s still half-wet, since the sink and vanity are in the shower space, which you also have to use to sit comfortably on the toilet and be able to close the door.

The second module is reserved for the bedrooms, offering four more berths. You can opt to have one of them either as a bunkroom for the kids, with a double bed for two more adults, or as a remote office. Whatever your choice, the rooms will be divided only by a privacy curtain, not the wall shown in the official renders from Beauer.

Since this is the larger module from which the smaller out comes out of, storage is limited here. The display unit shown in the UK features lots of collapsible, textile storage solutions that are not included in the price, just to offer an example of how this might work.

Standard features of the Beauer X6 include a 50-liter (14.5-gallon) tank for freshwater, a 6-liter (1.6-gallon) water heater, a cold outdoor shower, a 100Ah battery for the motor that operates the opening mechanism, and a multifunction control display.

The list of options is impressive and includes add-ons or upgrades, from a larger freshwater tank and a larger water heater, to a Clesana toilet instead of the cassette one, an induction cooktop, and a bigger battery to which you can hook up an extra solar panel. You can also add an awning, an e-mover for easier parking and hitching up, a reversible mini-split, a backup camera, and a bike rack.

Also as an option, you can customize the Beauer X6 inside out by choosing from a list of colors available. Maximum permissible weight is 1,800 kg (3,968 lbs), and you will have to keep it in mind when customizing your unit by adding options. You will also have to keep your budget in mind when doing that, as it will go all the way up to the lower 90s as you add extras.

The Beauer X6 is being marketed as a “spacious and flexible living environment without compromising mobility,” and it’s just that for those who put mobility at the top of their list of priorities, before higher comfort, more storage, or full privacy.
