“Knight” Star To Play Beast In New “X-Men”?

HBO

Irish actor Peter Claffey, the star of HBO’s “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” is rumored to have been cast as Hank McCoy/Beast in the upcoming “X-Men” film at Marvel Studios.

Knight Edge Media broke the story saying the actor, who plays Sir Duncan the Tall on the “Game of Thrones” spin-off series, isn’t just in contention but has landed the role. Scooper Jeff Sneider first rumored Claffey for the role back in April.

Previously, actor Charles Melton was linked to the part but dropped out of the running to star as Kakashi Hatake in Destin Daniel Cretton’s live-action “Naruto” movie.

Melton reportedly tried to make scheduling for both projects work out but couldn’t. Production on the new “X-Men” film is expected to begin in the UK sometime in early 2027.

The X-Men cast includes Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Asa Germann as Angel, and Maya Boyd as Storm.

Adam Driver will star as the main villain, Mister Sinister, in the film, which opens in cinemas on May 5th 2028.
