In an unexpected development for one of Warner Bros.’ biggest upcoming releases, Steven Soderbergh is stepping in to help Matt Reeves complete “The Batman Part II.” Reeves temporarily stepped away from production earlier this month to attend to a sensitive family matter, leaving Soderbergh to oversee the final weeks of principal photography. However, this isn’t a traditional director replacement. The two filmmakers will collaborate remotely, with Reeves remaining creatively involved and expected to return to a more hands-on role during post-production.
