Ever wanted to play Crimson Desert on your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S without buying it? You’re in luck! It’s been announced this week that Crimson Desert Enhanced has received a five-hour free trial on the Xbox Store.
There are no catches with this as far as we’re aware – simply search for the game on your Xbox console (specifically “Crimson Desert Enhanced” and not any other version), and you should see a prompt to download the free trial.
This will remain available to download until January 7th, so you’ve got a couple of months to take advantage.
Who can play the trial?
The trial is available to PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe subscribers on PlayStation, and to all players on Xbox.
If you end up really liking it, the good news is that your progress will transfer over to the main game should you choose to purchase it, although keep in mind that the trial can’t be restarted over and over again.
All of this is in celebration of the new Charting the Unknown DLC, the trailer for which we’ll leave at the bottom of this article. It’s an absolutely massive expansion that adds a ton of content on top of the base game, and it’s available for £19.99 / $24.99 on the Xbox Store as of yesterday.
As for why Crimson Desert is now called “Crimson Desert Enhanced”, it’s because they’ve added “new cutscenes and story moments, plus expanded voice-over and language support” alongside all the updates that have arrived since launch, so now is technically the best time ever to give it a go. Let us know what you think of the free trial!
