Developer Panic Stations has just launched its debut game, Frog Sqwad, on PS5, a few months following its initial release on PC.
Available now, Frog Sqwad is an online co-op multiplayer game in which a group of up to eight players dive into the sewers, gather what they can, and hope to fulfil a quota from the Swamp King.
It’s a very silly, fun-looking puzzle platformer of sorts, and that shouldn’t come as a huge surprise given the talent behind the game.
Panic Stations is a small studio founded by former Mediatonic staff, the team that created Fall Guys. You can definitely see some of that energy within Frog Sqwad with its colourful art style and intentionally chaotic action.
Anyway, it looks like it could be great fun with some pals. You basically use your tongues to grab items and move around the environment, all while avoiding hazards and eating as much as you can during a run.
If you’re interested in checking it out, it’s only $7.99/£6.49, and that’s before a launch discount of 20% is applied.
Frog Sqwad is one of several so-called “friendslop” games that are gradually making their way onto PS5; recently, one of the most popular titles in this category, Peak, launched on Sony’s system, and there are more on the way.
