Despite Pocketpair’s ongoing legal battle with Nintendo, the developer is apparently open to bringing its monster-taming survival game Palworld to Switch 2 one day.
In a new interview with VGC recently, Pocketpair CEO Takuru Mizobe has praised the Switch 2, calling it a “really amazing platform”, and says the team would love to see Palworld on the new hybrid system, if there’s a “future” that presents this kind of opportunity.
Here’s what Mizobe had to say:
“First of all, I should say that we think the Switch 2 is a really amazing platform… If there’s ever a future where we have the opportunity to discuss or consider bringing Palworld to the Switch platform in some way, then we’d love to have those conversations.”
As noted by the source, Pocketpair would obviously have to work out its legal dispute with Nintendo first, and it would all depend on the outcome. The battle continues next month, with the Tokyo District Court scheduled to deliver its preliminary view.
Mizobe previously said a Switch version of Palworld would be unlikely due to the system’s technical capabilities. Prior to the launch of the Switch 2, he also said a Switch 2 version would be worth considering if the system specs were “beefy enough”.
