For three years now, since Silent Hill 2 in 2024, Konami has had a new Silent Hill game every year. It’s recently said this is on purpose, as it’s looking to annualise the series and have a new title each year. Despite these comments, I thought the franchise would be taking a year off in 2027, as the Silent Hill remake is the only confirmed project the series has at the moment.
That’s apparently not going to be the case, though, with Bloober Team targeting next year.
Back in August, franchise producer Motoi Okamoto said the firm aims to “have an annual release of new games”, and it has multiple unannounced projects currently in development to try and make that happen. Having the Silent Hill remake come out next year would continue that cadence, with more unconfirmed projects coming after it.
So far, all we’ve got from Bloober Team is a social media post confirming the remake is happening. Perhaps we will see more of the project before the year is out, at The Game Awards?
