Hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and mood swings are among the most common symptoms of menopause. And yet, it’s not always easy to realize that you’re in the early stages of perimenopause until you’ve been experiencing symptoms for months (or more).
To shrink those numbers, some of the leading menopause organizations around the country are trying to set the record straight by educating the public about the symptoms, treatment options, long-term health impacts, and more.
The Menopause Society
As one of the best-known menopause nonprofits, the Menopause Society is committed to helping health professionals care for those approaching menopause and those in midlife.
To that end, the organization has a menopause practitioner locator, which connects people with providers who are members of the Menopause Society or who are certified Menopause Society practitioners. The website also hosts a variety of educational materials, including a downloadable copy of The Menopause Guidebook and the video series The Menopause Society Show.
You can message the staff directly or contact the Menopause Society on Facebook, Instagram, and X.
