Ice Cream From Lidl Recalled Due to Listeria Concern

The grocery store chain Lidl has recalled one lot of its Gelatelli label coffee-and-vanilla gelato because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a type of bacteria that can cause serious or even fatal infections in vulnerable groups, as well as miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women, according to an announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The company announced the recall after routine lab testing revealed the presence of Listeria. No illnesses have been reported so far.
