If you can’t decide on the perfect Air Jordan 5, the Air Jordan 5 ‘What The’ (CZ5725-700) makes choosing unnecessary. Released in 2020, this colorful mashup celebrates eight classic colorways. I liked the Air Jordan 4 ‘What The,’ but this version hits harder. Having recently purchased the Air Jordan 9 Low ‘What The Kilroy,’ I’m particularly drawn to Jordan Brand’s creative mashups.

As of October 21, 2026, StockX had the lower asking price in most men’s sizes, while GOAT was cheaper at 13 and 15. Size 8 is the best deal at $187 on StockX, and sizes 9 and 11 also sit under the $220 retail price. In my size 14, StockX’s $300 ask beats GOAT by $71. eBay is worth checking too.
What Makes the Air Jordan 5 ‘What The’ Special?

GOAT h/t Shoe Sagas
Celebrating the silhouette’s 30th anniversary, Jordan Brand blended eight memorable colorways: ‘Tokyo 23,’ ‘Raging Bull,’ ‘Shanghai,’ ‘Bel-Air,’ ‘Laser,’ ‘Green Bean,’ ‘Army Olive,’ and ‘Quai 54.’
The results are spectacularly mismatched. Yellow Tokyo-inspired suede contrasts with the Raging Bull’s fiery red, while a purple midsole, speckled shark teeth, reflective tongues, and embroidered heel graphics complete the tribute. It’s a colorful celebration of Tinker Hatfield’s legendary 1990 design.

Should You Buy the Air Jordan 5 ‘What The’?
Mashups aren’t for everyone, but this one gets my vote. Unlike the Jordan Spizike Low, which combines different silhouettes, the ‘What The’ draws from classic colorways of the same sneaker and paints a masterpiece.
The Air Jordan 4 ‘What The’ was comparatively restrained. This pair embraces boldness without apology. For sneakerheads who appreciate Jordan history, it’s worth grabbing near the original $220 retail price.
