Report: Possible Spoiler on Roman Reigns’ Opponent for WrestleMania 43

WWE has reportedly already decided on one of its two main events for WrestleMania 43 next April.

WrestleMania 43 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the April 10-11 weekend. The last time WWE held its premier main event outside of the United States was 2002, when WrestleMania X8 was held in Toronto, Ontario.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there have been discussions about running Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk and Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi as the main event matches for the two-day event.

According to Meltzer, Rhodes vs. Punk doesn’t seem likely. At this time, it sounds like Reigns and Femi will close out the show.

“There has been a lot of talk this week that the two main events for WrestleMania in 2027 would be Rhodes vs. Punk on night one and Reigns vs. Femi on night two,” Meltzer wrote. “From what we were told, the latter is accurate but the former is not the current plan.”

Femi received a giant push earlier this year, defeating Brock Lesnar in two of their three showdowns. He retired the future Hall of Famer at SummerSlam 2026 after winning their rubber match.

In June, Meltzer indicated that WWE would wait until 2027 to give Femi a world championship push. Femi won this year’s King of the Ring tournament, but declined a title match to continue his feud with Reigns.

Nobody has headlined more WrestleMania events than the 41-year-old Reigns. He’s been in the main event 11 times already, all taking place between 2015 and 2026.

Most recently, Reigns defeated CM Punk to close out WrestleMania 42 to claim the World Heavyweight Championship, and he’s held the title ever since.
