If you live in a household that abhors the “big light,” you know how much nicer freestanding table and floor lamps can make a room feel. Right now, Walmart has a particularly nice floor lamp that incorporates shelving space for storing books or displaying tchotchkes on sale with a big discount.
The Coliware Floor Lamp with Shelves is on sale for $39 at Walmart, 43% off its normal $69 price tag. It comes in two different shapes and two different colors. This deal is good on the black and white square versions of this lamp; a version designed to fit snugly into a corner is also on sale, albeit only in black and for $3 more.
The lamp part of this floor lamp sits perched atop the shelves, with a fabric shade that diffuses the light from the bulb, which can be adjusted to warm, cool, or clear white color temperatures. A simple pull string is the only control, and a series of cord clips allows you to run the power cord surreptitiously down the back. The shelving part of this floor lamp includes the three non-adjustable shelves underneath the light, small (10-inch by 10-inch) but useful surfaces that make this lamp a good bookcase, display case, or even nightstand.
One shopper called this lamp “sleek, smart, and practical.” They wrote that the “shelves feel safe, and the design is intuitive and smart.” The light is also great, as “the lamp shade and included bulb give a soft glow in the room.” The whole piece is “low profile, yet it offers a lot of shelf space.”
Another customer called this lamp a “fantastic addition to your rooms” because “they are sturdy.” Plus, “the added shelving is a blessing” and “even the bright white setting is not overpowering in the slightest” because “the shade works perfectly.”
